Germany WW2 Carl Eickhorn dress bayonet for K98 Mauser, original metal scabbard. Scarce “long type” in excellent overall condition, considering the age.
Original WW2 era German “long” dress bayonet for “Karabiner 98K” Mauser bolt-action rifle. Manufactured in the 1930s by the famous Carl Eickhorn in Solingen. The “squirrel” is the early type with the “coiled tail” detail, indication pre-WW2 manufacture, so this is one of the scarce high-quality pre-war production specimens. Carl Eickhorn had always made quality products, this definitely shows in the overall quality of this bayonet.
The bayonet looks practically unused; it is in better-than-average condition for the type. A number of scratches over the word ORIGINAL above the logo are noted for accuracy. Ricasso is sharply stamped with the “coiled tail squirrel” logo on one side. The bayonet is about 14-3/8” / 36.5 cm overall; the blade is about 9-3/4″ / 24.8 cm long’ the tip is intact. The blade has retained about 99% of its original chrome plating; original leather buffer pad is still attached to the base of the blade. Original black plastic handle grips are in excelled condition with no cracks or chips. The bayonet’s release button is in perfect working order.
The bayonet comes with original black painted steel scabbard in great overall condition – no dents or ding marks; about 60% of the original black finish remaining. There is no frog. After about 80 years, this original “long pattern” Germany WW2 Carl Eickhorn dress bayonet is in 100% serviceable condition still. Don’t miss your chance to add it to your collection!
