Germany WW2 FW Holler dress bayonet for K98 Mauser, original metal scabbard, leather frog included. Scarce type in excellent overall condition, considering the age.
Original WW2 era German “short pattern” dress bayonet for “Karabiner 98K” Mauser bolt-action rifle. Manufactured in the late 1930s by F.W Holler in Solingen. The blade is stamped with Holler’s “thermometer” logo on ricasso. The F.W. Höller Waffenfabrik company was founded in 1866 and it produces edged weapons ever since. F.W. Holler had always made quality products, this definitely shows in the overall quality of this dress bayonet.
This bayonet is only slightly used; it is in better-than-average condition for the type. The bayonet is about 12-1/2” / 31.8 cm overall; the blade is about 7-3/4″ / 19.5 cm long. The blade has retained about 99% of its original chrome plating; original leather buffer pad is still attached to the base of the blade. Original black plastic handle grips are in excelled condition with no cracks or chips. The bayonet’s release button is in perfect working order.
The bayonet comes with original unpainted steel scabbard in great overall condition – no dents or ding marks; some minor pitting is noted for accuracy. Original leather frog is unmarked; the leather is a bit stiff but the frog is in very good overall condition still. After about 80 years, this original “short pattern” Germany WW2 FW Holler dress bayonet is in 100% serviceable condition still. Don’t miss your chance to add it to your collection!
