WW2 Utica M3 fighting knife, guard-marked type, original M8 composition scabbard. Scarce American trench knife in great condition, considering the age. FREE EXPEDITED SHIPPING WITHIN THE U.S. FOR THIS ITEM.

Original WW-II era guard-marked M3 Trench Knife manufactured by Utica Cutlery Co. The M3 production had ended in August 1944, but only the early M3 specimens were blade-marked. Out of the total of 2.5 million M3s made, Utica Cutlery Co. produced about 650,000 M3s of all types. See the WW2 era M3 Trench Knife in the European theater photo (for reference only; not included with the lot). This authentic WW2 era American trench knife is used but it’s in better-then-average condition for the type, considering the age.

This M3 is about 11-5/8” / 29.5 cm overall; the blade is about 6-3/4″ / 17.2 cm. The knife is used but it’s in better-then-average condition for the type, considering the age. The blade has been re-sharpened, the edge is very sharp still; the tip is intact. The guard is sharply stamped US / M3 / UTICA on one side. Stacked grooved leather washers handle with iron guard and hammer-like pommel. All parts are tight with no play; the pommel is marked with the “flaming bomb” arsenal acceptance mark.

Original M8 composition scabbard by Beckwith Manufacturing Company – marked US M8 / B.M. CO. on the throat. The scabbard is in great condition – no cracks, chips, or dings on the plastic; the keeper is nice and tight; no mold or rust stains on the webbing. Overall, this classic American WW2 Utica M3 fighting knife is in 100% serviceable condition still; this type is getting harder to find in better grades every year.  I have a few early-issue M3 fighting knives available for sale in my store; buy more and save on shipping.

These are the actual photos; spent brass is not included with the lot 😉 I have a number of vintage American-made collectible knives in the store, please take a look at the store’s American Blades section.
