Description

WW2 theater fighting knife with blued blade, aircraft Plexiglas washers and aluminum fittings handle, original handmade scabbard included. One of a kind fighter in excellent condition, considering the age.

Interesting WW2 era “theater made” blued blade fighting knife with original handmade leather scabbard included. These “theater” fighters were made from whatever materials were available on hand. This specimen’s quality is actually quite high – high carbon blade is professionally  grounded, blued, and honed to perfection. A well-balance handle is made of stacked aircraft Plexiglas, celluloid and aluminum washers with solid aluminum guard and pinned pommel. The knife is very well-balanced with a perfect handle fit; all parts are tight with no play. The quality of work is pretty amazing, considering this fighter was likely made in fairly rudimentary conditions.

This unique fighting knife is about 11-3/8″ / 29 cm overall; the blade is about 6-1/4″ / 16 cm long. This specimen is used, but it is excellent overall condition for the type, considering the age and typical abuse in the field. The blade is razor-sharp still; the tip is intact. No markings on the blade or on the handle; which is common for the type. Original handmade leather scabbard with leather tie-downs is in very good overall condition, considering the age. The leather is a bit dry but all rivets and leather stitching are intact.  Overall, this original “theater made” WW2 theater fighting knife is in 100% serviceable condition still. With proper care it will last you another 90 years 😉

This attractive WW2 theater fighting knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, this set is in original “as is” condition. These are the actual photos. Garand clips are not included with the knife 😉 I have a few more American WW2 era combat knives and bayonets, as well as several scarce WW1 and WW2 fighting daggers and trench knives from other countries available for sale – please take a look in our Militaria section.
