WW2 Ka-Bar USN MK2 fighting knife, early blade-marked type; original GI-signed 1943 NORD composition scabbard. FREE EXPEDITED SHIPPING WITHIN THE U.S. FOR THIS ITEM.
Original WW2 era famous US Navy Mark 2 “Ka-Bar” fighting knife (the link is a courtesy of Wikipedia) manufactured early in the war by Ka-Bar (Union Cutlery) in Olean, NY. This is the early issue blade-marked type with original USN NORD composition scabbard. Mark 2 is a classic American WW2 era fighting knife; this type was used in combat by the US Army and the Navy men alike in all theaters of the War.
This MK2 is about 12/4″ / 30.5 cm overall; blued blade is about 7 / 17.8 cm long. This MK2 is used, but it is in better-than-average condition for the type. The edge has been re-sharpened; it is razor-sharp; the tip is intact. Ricasso is sharply stamped KA-BAR on on one side, USN MK2 on the other. Stacked leather washers handle with the “thick type” round hammer-like blued steel pommel and slightly curved handguard. Original USN MK2 marked NORD composition scabbard is GI-marked: last name NORMAN is scratched on the front panel. The tip is cracked, unfortunately. There is a long crack running along the edge on both sides of the tip; the webbing is in excellent condition with no stains or rust; original keeper is intact. This scabbard was made by Victory Plastics division of Beckwith Manufacturing (VP / B.M. Co. on the throat). The numbers on the back of the throat indicate it was part of November 1943 deliveries to the Navy.
This original WW2 Ka-Bar USN MK2 fighting knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it is in 100% original “as is” condition. These are the actual photos.
