Original WW2 era M1 bayonet for US Garand manufactured in 1943 by Oneida Limited (OL). This is a scarce dated 10″-blade specimen – NOT a cut-down of the older 16″ blade M1905. Also, this specimen is in the practically unused condition the factory “parkerized” blade finish intact – rare as such.
A well-made bayonet with crisp lines and a well-defined edge; ricasso is sharply stamped OL / US “flaming bomb” / 1943 on one side. The bayonet is in practically unused condition with most of the original parkerized blade finish remaining. Just a couple of minor edge nicks; the muzzle ring and pommel are excellent with no contact marks. Black plastic handle grips are near-mint; all handle parts are tight. The scabbard/bayonet release mechanism is excellent and 100% functional. This M1 is about 14-3/8″ / 37 cm overall; the blade is about 9-7/8″ / 25 cm. Original WW2 era M7 composition scabbard manufacture by Victory Plastics is marked with US “flaming-bomb” ordinance mark on the throat; the throat’s underside plate is sharply stamped B4/1N. Excellent overall condition, considering the age; this type is scarce this nice.
Overall, this rare WW2 Oneida Limited OL M1 bayonet is in excellent condition. A desirable and highly collectible type; VERY rare this nice. Not cleaned or tampered with in any way, 100% original condition; these are the actual photos. I have a few more American bayonets and fighting knives, as well as some scarce European WW2 and WW1 fighting knives, daggers, trench knives and bayonets available for sale – please take a look in our Militaria section.
