Original WW-II era fighting knife made from M4 bayonet manufactured by Utica Cutlery Co. Utica made the M4, as well as M3 Trench knife during the war; both types were used as fighting knives by GI in virtually every theater of operations. See the WW2 era M3 Trench Knife and M4 bayonet in the European theater photos (for reference only; not included with the lot). This fighting knife is used, but it’s in better-than-average condition for the type.

This is an early 6-grooves handle M4 specimen with stacked leather washer handle. All parts are tight; the knife is in great overall condition. The knife is about 11-1/2” / 29.3 cm overall; the blade is about 6-5/8″ / 16.8 cm. The blade has been professionally re-sharpened; it is razor-sharp still; the tip is intact. Stacked leather washers handle is tight; original muzzle ring has been cut off; the guard has been rounded-off to a simple oval shape.  Bayonet release mechanism is till intact. The handle is solid; all parts are tight with no play.

Original M8composition scabbard was manufactured by Beckwith Manufacturing Company – a division of Victory Plastics. All original parts are intact; top plate underside is marked B 2/6 N; both sides of the composite plastic are painted black. Overall, this WW2 Utica fighting knife is in 100% serviceable condition; you will not be disapointed.
