Description
The knife is about 9-3/8″ / 23.8 cm overall; the blade is about 5-1/4″ / 13.4 cm long. Original drop-point blade tip has been re-sharpened to spear-point type. The rest of the original blade is intact; the edge has been sharpened to a fine edge; it is very sharp still. The blade is sharply stamped RZM M7/3 – the Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) code assignment for knives and other edged-weapon production. Reichszeugmeisterei was the Nazi Party’s department in charge of standardizing equipment and manufacturing. Original plastic handle scales have been replaced with hardwood scales. Looks like the original swastika inlay was saved and added to replacement scales, but it was cleansed of all nazi symbols. All parts are tight with no play; some ding marks on the pommel are noted for accuracy. Original metal scabbard is in excellent overall condition; leather belt hanger and keeper are soft and supple still. This scabbard is in 100% serviceable condition still.
This original Germany WW2 Hitler Youth Knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it is in 100% original “as is” condition.
