WW2 Ka-Bar USN MK2 fighting knife, blued blade/guard marked type; original 1945 NORD composition scabbard. Excellent specimen in rare UNUSED; this type is rare this nice. FREE EXPEDITED SHIPPING WITHIN THE U.S. FOR THIS ITEM.
Original WW2 era famous US Navy Mark 2 “Ka-Bar” fighting knife (the link is a courtesy of Wikipedia) manufactured early in the war by Ka-Bar (Union Cutlery) in Olean, NY. This is the blued blade/guard marked type with original USN-marked NORD composition scabbard; both are in rare unused condition. Mark 2 is a classic American WW2 era fighting knife; this type was used in combat by the US Army and the Navy men alike in all theaters of the War.
This MK2 is about 12-1/4″ / 31 cm overall; blued blade is about 7 / 17.8 cm long. This MK2 is in better-than-average condition for the type. Original factory edge is razor-sharp; the tip is intact. The guard is stamped KA-BAR on on one side, USN MK2 on the other. Stacked leather washers handle with an the “thick type” round hammer-like steel pommel and slightly curved handguard. Original USN MK2 marked NORD composition scabbard is in rare unused condition as well. No chips or cracks on the plastic or stains on the webbing. This scabbard was made by Victory Plastics division of Beckwith Manufacturing (VP / B.M. Co. on the throat). The numbers on the back of the throat indicate it was part of March 1945 deliveries to the Navy.
Original keeper is intact; no stain on the webbing or cracks/chips on the plastic. During the war most of these early MK2s were used in the field as intended; these Ka-Bar MK2s are hard-to-find this complete.
This original WW2 Ka-Bar USN MK2 fighting knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it is in 100% original “as is” condition.
