An interesting and certainly one-of-a-kind  WW2 era fighting knife made from and early-production type M3 Fighting Knife/Trench Knife manufactured by Camillus Cutlery in  Camillus, NY – one of the larger war-time makers of edged weapons for the US government. Out of the total of 2.5 million M3s made, Imperial produced about 403,000 M3s of all types by the time production ended in August 1944. However, only a relatively small number of early production M3s were blade-marked. Attached is the photo of the US Airborne paratroopers gearing up somewhere in England the day prior to D-day jump. One paratrooper has his trench knife on the hip; two other guys are armed with M3 fighting knifes tied to their legs (original photo is the courtesy of Wikipedia and is not included with the knife). I have a few original WW2 era paratrooper-related knives available in my store; please take a look.

This fighting knife is about 11-1/2” / 29.2 cm overall; the blade is about 6-1/2″ / 16.5 cm. The blade has been re-sharpened and it is razor-sharp still; the tip is intact. “theater-dressed” hardwood handle with 2 large brass pind and a solid bronze guard; all parts are tight with no play. The blade is stamped US M3 CAMILLUS on one side.

Original M8A1 composition scabbard was manufactured by Beckwith Manufacturing Company; it’s marked US M8 / B.M. CO. on the throat. The scabbard is in very good overall condition, considering the age; the keeper is nice and tight; a small crack near the tip is noted for accuracy. This interesting WW2 Camillus M3 blade fighting knife is in 100% serviceable condition still. This original WW2 Camillus M3 blade fighting knife/M8A1 composition scabbard  set has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, 100% original condition; these are the actual photos. Garand clips are not included with the knife 😉
