WW2 Aerial Cutlery fighting knife, rare original “round tip” leather scabbard included. Hard-to-find “private purchase” type American fighter by a scarce maker; great condition, considering the age. FREE EXPEDITED SHIPPING WITHIN THE U.S. FOR THIS ITEM.

Original and hard-to-find WW-II era American “non-regulation” clip-point blade fighting knife manufactured by Aerial Cutlery Co. In addition to 52,000 M3 Trench Knives manufactured on order for the US government by during the war, Aerial Cutlery had also produced several types of fighting knives that ware sold on a private market. All types of these “private purchase” knives are scarce as Aerial did not make a lot of them to begin with. This exact type is illustrated on page 48 of KNIVES OF THE UNITED STATES MILITARY WORLD WAR II book by Michael W Silvey – a well-established expert and the author of a number of books on the subject of the US military edged weapons (see book’s page scans attached).  It is likely that Aerial Cutlery simply used up the remaining stock of M3 parts to manufacture a small quantity of these M3-looking fighters; the overall quality for this type is always very high; this is one of the highly though-after “private purchase” American fighting knife types.

This WW2 Aerial Cutlery fighting knife is only slightly used; it is in better-than-average condition for the type since most of these fighting knives were used in the filed as intended. The knife is about 10-1/2” / 26.7 cm overall; clip-point blade is about 6″ / 15.3 cm. The blade has been lightly re-sharpened; it is razor-sharp still; the tip is intact. Stacked leather washers handle; original M3-style iron guard and hammer-like iron pommel; all parts are tight with no play. The blade is unmarked; stacked leather washer handle is marked KEN on one side; the pommel is also engraved KEN with electro pencil. An extremely hard-to-find original “round tip” leather scabbard is included. The scabbard is in excellent shape for the type; all parts are intact; the leather is soft and supple still. These original Aerial scabbards are rarer than the knives themselves as very few survived the war in decent condition. Overall, this rare “private purchase” WW2 Aerial Cutlery fighting knife is in 100% serviceable condition; this type is getting harder to find every year.

This hard-to-find original WW2 Aerial Cutlery fighting knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it is in 100% original “as is” condition. These are the actual photos; Garand clips are not included with the lot 😉 I have a few more American, German, British, Italian, and French fighting knives, as well as some scarce WW2 and WW1 daggers, trench knives and bayonets available for sale – please take a look in the Militaria section.
