Description

Vintage Austrian dagger AW Walker & Son, mother of pearl handle, “UN XLD” marked 5-7/8″ blade. RARE gentleman’s dagger type; VERY hard-to-find maker.

Rare Austrian gentleman’s dagger made circa 1920th-1930th dagger by A.W. Walker & Son. Very little is known about this manufacturer; seems like they went out of business even before Austria was annexed in the late ’30th. A rare interim-war period dagger type in general; made by a hard to find short-lived maker – a great find!

This is a very attractive specimen with beautiful mother of pearl and silver collar band handle. An extra-wide S-guard is made of steel; all parts are tight with no play. The dagger is about 10” / 25.5 cm overall; the blade is about 5-7/8” / 15 cm long. One side is stamped A.W. Walker & Son / AUSTRIA and with  “UN XLD” oval logo. The edge has been re-sharpened; it is very sharp still; the tip is intact. Original MOP handle is in great condition, considering the age; no chips, cracks, or repairs. The crossguard is tight with no play. There is no sheath.

This vintage Austrian dagger AW Walker & Son gentleman’s knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way. It is in 100% original “as is” condition; these are the actual photos.
