Description
Vietnam War presentation knife inscribed First Philippine Civic Action Group, Tay Ninh South Vietnam. Original hand-made leather sheath is included; very rare type in excellent overall condition, considering the age.
Rare Vietnam War era presentation type; possibly one-of-a-kind. This knife is only slightly used; the blade is razor-sharp still; the tip is intact. The knife is about 13-1/4″ / 33.7 cm overall; the blade is about 8-3/8 / 21.3 cm; it is about 7 mm thick at ricasso. The blade has nice original gray patina throughout; a few light surface rust spots on ricasso are noted for accuracy. The blade is hand-punched FIRST PHILIPPINE CIVIC ACTION GROUP / TAY NINH SOUTH VIETNAM on one side, initials HP on the other. Bronze S-guard and fittings; the handle is carved horn; no cracks or chips. The handle is in excellent condition; all parts are tight with no play. Original hand-made leather sheath with brass fittings is in excellent condition as well. All original stitching is intact; the leather is soft and supple. Floral patterns on the front; the back is stamped with the number 5 near the belt hanger part.
This rare Vietnam War presentation knife was part of the diverse collection of militaria items that I’ve recently purchased spanning from WW1 to Vietnam War. This personal collection contains many interesting items, some are unique, but there is just too much work to list it all at the same time. Please check out my site periodically for new arrivals; I’ll be listing more items in the next few weeks.
This rare Vietnam War presentation knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it is in 100% original “as is” condition. These are the actual photos. I have a few more British, Commonwealth, and American WW2 era combat knives and bayonets, as well as several scarce WW1 fighting daggers and trench knives from other countries available for sale – please take a look in our Militaria section.
