Scarce large Crown-size 1973 silver UN Declaration of Human Rights silver medal struck in the US by The Franklin Mint. An attractive PROOF specimen with original luster; the coin is still in the original-issue plastic case. The coin is about 38 mm in diameter, 30 grams; sterling silver. Many of these large silver coins were melted down during the early 1980s “silver fever”, when the spot price went up several folds.
