Description
Original WW2 era (and certainly one of a kind) crown stag fighting dagger made from what looks like a much older European rapier blade. This so-called “theater knife” was expertly made by an unknown soldier or a sailor from whatever materials were available at hand. A beefy crown stag and forged iron S-guard handle has a very positive grip; all parts are tight with no play. Dual-edge dirk style blade is expertly finished; my best guess is that it was made from an old rapier blade or a similar European fencing sword. The quality of work is excellent; all parts have a perfect fit, no play whatsoever – this dagger was definitely made by a very skilled and talented knifemaker.
This WW2 sword blade fighting dagger is about 12-5/8″ / 32 cm overall; the blade is about 8-1/2″ / 21.5 cm; the blade is very sharp still; the tip is intact. An old stag has a nice amber shade to it; no chips or repairs; one small age-related crack is noted for accuracy (nothing major). The original black-painted leather scabbard is in great shape; all original stitching is intact. The daggers and scabbard’s materials, blade fit, and overall quality of work are superb; the set is in excellent overall condition, considering the age. This WW2 sword blade fighting dagger and its original scabbard are in 100% serviceable condition still, even 80 or so years later. Don’t miss your chance to add this unique WW2 Fighter to your collection!
