A typical GI’s bring back a souvenir from the Italian campaign; WW2 era. Reportedly these “letter openers” were made by the local craftsmen from melted-down aircraft parts; most types feature nude scenes or naked bodies. Made as a cast aluminum one-piece with 1944 Italy engraved on the handle. The “knife” is about 9-1/8″ / 23 cm overall; the blade is 5-5/8″ / 14.3 cm long. Excellent overall condition for the type.
This WW2 souvenir 1944 letter opener with a “naked girl” motive handle has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, 100% original “as is” condition. These are the actual photos; spent brass is not included with the lot. We have a few more American WW2 era combat knives and bayonets, as well as several scarce WW1 and WW2 fighting daggers and trench knives from other countries available for sale – please take a look in our Militaria section.
We accept all major credit cards and payments via PayPal as forms of payment. Old-fashioned checks and money orders will work as well; please take a look at the Payments section within our Terms and Conditions for additional details.
