Original WW2 era American fighting knife made from Imperial Cutlery M3 – M4 production overruns. Blued M3/M4 type blade is unmarked; the knife comes with original M8A1 composition scabbard. This specimen was made by Imperial – it has a classic Imperial Bakelite-ended stacked leather washers handle, the guard still has remnants of the original US M4 / IMPERIAL stamp on the top side. This type was also manufactured during the war by other makers utilizing a quantity of semi-finished M3/M4 blades. This fighting knife is about 11-1/4″ / 28.5 cm overall; nicely blued blade is about 6-1/2″ / 16.5 cm. The edge has been lightly re-sharpened; the blade is very sharp still; the tip is intact. Steel butt plate, iron bayonet muzzle/handguard and stacked leather washers/bakelite spacers handle. The handle is solid; the guard has a tiny bit of a play. The original M8A1 composition scabbard is well-used but it’s in 100% serviceable condition still. Minor edge cuts and scratches are noted for accuracy; no cracks or other major damage. Steel throat’s underside is stamped Vp2 on one side; the webbing is in very good condition; the keeper is MIA.
This attractive American WW2 Imperial M3-M4 fighting knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it is in 100% original “as is” condition. These are the actual photos; Garand clips are not included with the knife
