WW2 Camillus USN MK2 fighting knife, blued blade/guard-marked, original March 1945 manufacture NORD composition scabbard. Excellent fighter in rare UNUSED condition; this type is hard-to-find this nice.
Original WW2 era famous US Navy Mark 2 “Ka-Bar” fighting knife (the link is a courtesy of Wikipedia) manufactured by Camillus Cutlery out of Camillus, NY. A very attractive USN Mark 2 specimen in excellent UNUSED condition – this MK2 type is rare this nice as most were used in the field as intended.
This is the “guard-marked” type with a plain unmarked ricasso. The guard is stamped CAMILLUS, N.Y. and U.S.N. / MARK 2 on the top side. The knife is about 12″ / 30.5 cm overall; blued blade is about 7″ / 17.8 cm; all of the original finish is intact. Original factory edge is RAZOR-sharp; no contact marks on the spine, the tip is intact. Leather washers handle with a heavy round pommel and slightly curved guard; all parts are perfectly tight with no play. The pommel is excellent; the guard is solid with no play. Leather washers are nice and tight with no contact marks.
Original “navy-gray” NORD composition scabbard was made by Victory Plastics division of Beckwith Manufacturing (B.M. Co.); it is in unused condition as well. The numbers on the back of the throat indicate delivery date to the Navy as March 1945. The scabbard is in excellent overall condition. All-original “navy gray” finish; no stains on the webbing; original keeper is intact. This scabbard is in 100% serviceable condition. Most of these late-war Mark 2 knives were used in the field as intended; specimens in original “as made” condition are VERY hard to find nowadays. This museum-quality WW2 Camillus USN MK2 fighting knife will be a great addition to any collection.
This attractive WW2 Ka-Bar USN MK2 fighting knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it is in 100% original “as is” condition. These are the actual photos; spent brass is not included with the knife 😉
