Description
Original and one-of-a-kind WW2 era American “theater-made” fighting knife made from the tip of the Spanish-American War era Krag M1898 bayonet for the blade and a nicely re-worked gun shell case for the handle. A pretty cool-looking historical piece; this is certainly is NOT your standard-issue sidearm. The overall quality of this unique but practical fighter is actually pretty high. The handle was definitely made by an expert in metal working – this slim handle is as practical as it is beautiful; the lines and the fit are well-executed.
This interesting fighting knife is about 8-7/8″ / 22.5 cm overall; the blade is about 5-1/4″ / 13.3 cm long; the blade has been re-sharpened; it is very sharp still; the tip is slightly nicked. This fighter is completely unmarked. Original scabbard is a contemporary re-purposed hunting knife sheath; it fits the blade perfectly. The sheath is in good over shape, considering the age; the leather is soft and supple still.
This interesting and certainly one-of-a kind WW2 American theater-made fighting knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way; it is in 100% original “as is” condition. These are the actual photos; spent brass is not included with the knife 😉 I have more WW2 era American, British, Australian, New Zealand, and German fighting knives, as well as several scarce WW1 and WW2 fighting daggers, bayonets and trench knives available for sale – please take a look in the Militaria section.
