WW1 Bavarian Red Cross pin – scarce large VATERLANDSDANK silvered bronze presentation badge. Rare type in excellent overall condition, considering the age.
Rare pre-WW1/early WW1 era Bavarian VATERLANDSDANK type silvered bronze presentation badge in excellent overall condition. This type was presented to a large-scale donors who supported the Bavarian Red Cross; typically if a person donated a large sun of money to the cause. A rare and highly collectable type; the pin is about 33 mm by 33 mm; non-magnetic silvered alloy (could be unmarked silver) with hot white, blue and red enamels on the obverse side. The badge shows just a minimal wear, no dings, contact marks, or chipped spots on the enamel; a few light hairlines on the enamel are noted for accuracy.
This rare original Great War era WW1 Bavarian Red Cross pin is not a later reproduction or a copy; it is guaranteed to be 100% genuine or your money back. Not cleaned; these are the actual photos. This WW1 Bavarian Red Cross pin was part of the diverse collection of militaria items that I’ve recently purchased spanning from WW1 to Vietnam War. This personal collection contains many interesting items, some are unique, but there is just too much work to list it all at the same time. Please check out my site periodically for new arrivals; I’ll be listing more items in the next few weeks.
