Schrade USA 1976 silver fittings Bicentennial Bowie, Aurum Etchings blade, ivory inlay handle. Rare limited edition – only 200 made; original presentation box included; UNUSED.
Scarce limited edition Gerber Schrade Cutlery American Bicentennial Bowie was produced for the National Rifle Association in 1976. Schrade made 1976 serial-numbered Bicentennial Bowies with “plain” bronze fittings. But only 200 of these knives were made with elaborate sterling silver fittings and ivory “eagle” inlays on the handle; these were numbered 1776 to 1976. This specimen’s serial numbered 1844 on the ivory handle inlay.
The knife features a stainless steel blade with fantastic etching on both sides; the blade was finished by the long-gone Aurum Etchings. Fittings are sterling silver; walnut handle with an ivory inlay on the back side. This rare Schrade USA 1976 silver fittings Bicentennial Bowie is about 11″ / 28 cm long; the blade is about 6-1/2″ / 16.5 cm long; all parts are tight with no play. Original factory edge; the blade is razor-sharp; the tip is intact. This specimen is in unused condition with original hardwood presentation box included. Original hardwood presentation case is in excellent overall condition; no cracks or chips.
