WW1 era Russian medal FOR BRAVERY, 3rd Class (За Храбрость, Diakov ref. 1133-17) issued circa 1917 by the short-lived Russian Interim Government. This type was struck in white metal due to the war-time silver shortages. About 28.5 mm in diameter; about 13.6 grams. Serial number 275566 is hand-punched on the reverse side; St. George on horseback slaying the dragon on the front. Not cleaned with some of the original mint luster remaining. A rare type and an attractive specimen; a few very light contact marks are noted for accuracy.
