Rare original WW2 era Iranian “Persian dagger” type fighting knife made during Allied occupation. Likely a bring-back by an American GI; a hard-to-find WW2 fighter nowadays. This exact type is illustrated on page 169 of THE MILITARY KNIFE & BAYONET book by Homer M. Brett – a well-established expert an author of many books on the subject of US military edged weapons (see the book’s page scan attached).
This specimen is used but it is in better-than-usual condition for the type. The blade is razor-sharp still; the tip is intact. This fighting dagger is about 11″ / 28 cm overall; the blade is about 6-5/8″ / 17 cm long. Gold-inlaid Persian royal crest / IRAN 1945 on side of ricasso; the rest of the blade is unmarked. Polished horn handle with brass wire and bronze pommel and cross guard. All parts are tight with no play; the sheath did not survive. This rare Iran WW2 fighting dagger has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way; it is in 100% original “as is” condition.
