Germany WW2 Robi Klaas dress bayonet for K98 Mauser, original metal scabbard. Scarce “long type” in very good overall condition, considering the age.
Original WW2 era German “long” dress bayonet for “Karabiner 98K” Mauser bolt-action rifle. Manufactured early in the war by the famous Robert (Robi) Klaas in Solingen. Robert Klaas had always made quality products, this definitely shows in the overall quality of this bayonet.
The bayonet is only slightly used but its condition had suffered from poor storage conditions. The nickel plating on the handle is peeling in places; metal scabbard is rusted. The bayonet is about 14-5/8” / 37.2 cm overall; the blade is about 9-7/8″ / 25 cm long’ the tip is intact. Ricasso is sharply stamped with the “kissing cranes” logo on one side. The blade has retained about 95% of its original chrome plating; original leather buffer pad is still attached to the base of the blade. Original black plastic handle grips are in excelled condition with no cracks or chips. The bayonet’s release button is in perfect working order; all parts are tight.
Original steel scabbard in Ok shape overall. No dents or ding marks, but plenty of surface rust present. There is no frog. After about 80 years, this original “long pattern” Germany WW2 Robi Klaas dress bayonet is in 100% serviceable condition still; don’t miss your chance to add it to your collection!
