Original Cold War era Dutch Armed Forces M4 bayonet for the US M1 carbine in rare UNUSED condition. This specimen was manufactured for the Dutch military in Germany by the famous E&F Hörster in 1951-1952. This is your typical top-tier piece of the famous German engineering: top craftsmanship from start to finish, perfect attention to details, top-grade materials for all parts, the overall quality is excellent. These E&F Hörster made bayonets and scabbards are simply the best of all M4s ever produced by any country.
This specimen is in scarce unused condition; the bayonet is about 11-7/8″ / 30 cm overall; blued blade is about 6-3/4″ / 17.2 cm long. Original factory edge is very sharp; the tip is intact. Ricasso is unmarked, as intended; serial number punched over the side of the guard/muzzle ring. Molded brown plastic handle grips are near-excellent; all parts are tight with no play; bayonet release mechanism is excellent and 100% functional. The scabbard is similar to the US-made M8A1, but the metal throat is blued. The scabbard’s body is made of Durofol, a laminated wood developed in Germany during WW2. Durofol is made by impregnating beech wood veneers of 0.2 to 0.3 mm thickness with 25-35% of a water-soluble phenolic resin cured under both high pressure and temperature. The scabbard is also unused; web hanger is excellent with no mold or rust stains; all parts are intact.
This original Cold War Dutch M4 bayonet set is in excellent shape overall and it is in 100% serviceable condition. Not cleaned or tampered with in any way. these are the actual photos; spent brass is not included with the lot 😉 I have more Cold War era fighting knives and bayonets, as well as several scarce WW1 and WW2 American and European fighting daggers, bayonets and trench knives available for sale – please take a look in the Militaria section.
