Cold Steel Tanto knife 5.75-inch blade; original Kydex sheath; made by Ichiro Hattori in Japan in the 1980th. Excellent overall condition; this type is hard-to-find this nice and complete.
Vintage 1980th Tanto model fighting knife made by Ichiro Hattori in Seki, Japan for COLD STEEL Co based in Ventura, CA. Original early-type Kydex sheath with the “pull dot” snap is included. The knife is in slightly used condition; these Japan-made 1980th Tantos are VERY hard-to-find nowadays. The knife is about 11-1/8″ / 28.3 cm overall; razor-sharp satin-polished blade is about 5-3/4” / 14.6 cm. I believe the blade is made of tool-grade AUS8A stainless; the edge is razor-sharp; the tip is intact; a few hairline scratched from going in-and-out of plastic sheath are noted for accuracy. Rubberized diamond-checkered handle with a solid polished bronze guard and heavy-duty “scull crusher” bronze pommel. The handle is solid; all parts are tight with no play. Ricasso is acid-etched TANTO / by COLD STEEL/ VENTURA CALIF on one side; MADE IN JAPAN on the other. Original early-style Kydex sheath with the “pull dot” snaps is in excellent overall condition; all parts are intact.
