Very cool-looking WW2 era letter opener made from a spend 50 cam BMG casing and bullet and all-brass blade. The blade is crudely decorated on both sides of the blade and dated 1943. The 50 cal round was manufactured in 1942, based on the head stamp. This interesting “trench art” letter opener is in excellent overall condition. It is about 8-7/8” / 20 cm overall; brass blade is about 5″ / 12.7 cm; no edge dings, the tip is intact; the blade is very sharp still.
