Description
WW2 MK2 blade theater fighting knife made from converted Mark 2, original early-war leather scabbard; one of a kind fighter in very good overall condition, considering the age.
Original WW2 era American fighter made from the re-purposed Mark 2 fighting knife and whatever else was available on hand. The handle is made of stacked aircraft plexiglass washers with brass spacers in between and “bookends” made of Bakelite. Large S-guard is copper; saw-cut and finished by hand pommel was cut from a solid chink of bronze. The overall quality is pretty high; the fit and finish are excellent; all parts are tight with no play – not a small feat in the rudimentary field conditions.
This fighting knife is completely unmarked. About 11-7/8″ / 30 cm overall; the blade is about 7″ / 17.8 cm long. The blade is well-honed; it is razor-sharp still; the tip is intact. Original early-war MK2 leather scabbard is in very good condition, considering the age. The leather is still soft; all original stitching, rivets and keeper are intact. Overall, this old-timer is in 100% serviceable condition still; with proper care it will last you another 80 years 😉
This unique WW2 MK2 blade theater fighting knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, the set is in 100% original “as is” condition. These are the actual photos; Garand clips are not included with the knife 😉
