Description

WW2 American Pacific Campaign theater fighting knife made from M1905 bayonet blade engraved Lucky D. Schriven, highly decorated handle. Rare one-of a kind WWII Fighter in great condition, considering the age.

Original WW2 era American fighting knife made from the US M1905 bayonet blade and whatever materials were available on hand (see side-by side M1905 bayonet comparison photo). Probably ship-made by some sailor or marine; the blade is faintly engraved Lucky D. Schriven (last name is a bit hard to read), individual handle washers is highly decorated with 26 names of various ports, atolls, bases and “hot spots” of the Pacific Theater of operations. The lower iron washer is engraved Good Luck / Lucky D. Schriven in fine tiny letters.

The overall quality of this unique but practical fighter is actually pretty high. The fit and overall balance are excellent, finely-honed blade is super-sharp still; this is one hell of a practical sidearm. Solid bronze pommel seems to be filed to shape by hand; the guard was expertly fitted and brazed to the blade – no small feat in the rudimentary field conditions. This interesting fighting knife is about 12-3/4″ / 32.4 cm overall; the blade is about 8″ / 20.3 cm; the blade is razor- sharp; the tip is a bit rounded. The scabbard  did not survive. This interesting and certainly one-of-a kind WW2 American Pacific Campaign theater fighting knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way; it is in 100% original “as is” condition. These are the actual photos; Garand clips are not included with the knife 😉

I have more WW2 era American, Australian, New Zealand, and German fighting knives, as well as several scarce WW1 and WW2 fighting daggers, bayonets and trench knives available for sale – please take a look in the Militaria section.
