Original WW2 era American fighting knife made from the re-purposed “long” M1905 16″ blade bayonet and whatever else was available on hand. The handle is made of stacked aircraft plexiglass washers with colored and bakelite spacers in between; hand guard and pommel are cut from solid chinks of aluminum and finished by hand. The overall quality is pretty high; the fit and finish are excellent; all parts are tight with no play – not a small feat in the rudimentary field conditions. This fighting knife and its custom-made scabbard are completely unmarked. The dagger is about 12″ / 30.5 cm overall; the blade is about 7″ / 17.8 cm; the blade is very sharp still; the tip is intact. Original leather scabbard is in good condition, considering the age. The leather is a bit dry; some loss of stitching at the tip; all original rivets and keeper are intact intact. Overall, this old-timer is in 100% serviceable condition still; with proper care it will last you another 75 years 😉
This unique WW2 M1905 blade theater fighting knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, the set is in 100% original “as is” condition. These are the actual photos; spent brass is not included with the knife 😉 I have a few more WW2 theater-made knives, as well as some standard-issue WW2 era combat knives and bayonets, scarce WW1 and WW2 fighting daggers and trench knives from other countries available for sale – please take a look in our Militaria section.
