Original WW2 era M3 Fighting Knife/Trench Knife manufactured by Kinfolks Inc. in Little Valley, NY. Kinfolks produced all kinds of edged weapons for the US government during WW2, but it did not a lot of M3 fighting knives. Out of the total of 2.5 million M3s made, Kinfolks had produced just about 135,000 M3s by the time production ended in August 1944. The M3 was initially issued to the US airborne units. Attached is the photo of the US Airborne paratroopers gearing up somewhere in England the day prior to D-day jump. One paratrooper has his trench knife on the hip; two other guys are armed with M3 fighting knifes tied to their legs (original photo is the courtesy of Wikipedia and is not included with the knife).

This fighting knife is in rare unused condition with factory-original edge; about 99% of the blade bluing is intact. This M3 is in better-than-average condition; this type is VERY hard to find this nice. This fighter is about 11-5/8” / 29.5 cm overall; the blade is about 6-3/4″ / 17.1 cm. The blade is razor-sharp; the tip is intact; no edge nicks on dings on the spine. Stacked grooved leather washers handle; steel guard and hammer-like pommel still have original black factory coating. No damage to leather washers; all parts are tight with no play; the handle is in excellent shape overall. The guard is sharply marked U.S. M3 / K.I. The pommel is stamped with the “flaming bomb” arsenal acceptance stamp.

Original M8 composition scabbard was manufactured by Beckwith Manufacturing Company – a division of Victory Plastics; it’s marked US M8 / B.M. CO. on the throat. The scabbard is in great condition as well, considering the age; the keeper is nice and tight; no rust on the webbing, original leather leg tie is still attached. No chips or cracks on the plastic; a couple of minor scuff marks on the plastic are noted for accuracy. Overall, this WW2 Kinfolks M3 fighting knife is in 100% serviceable condition still; don’t miss your chance to add it to your collection!

This original WWII trench knife WW2 Kinfolks M3 fighting knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it is in 100% original “as is” condition; these are the actual photos. Garand clips are not included with the knife 😉  I have a few more WW2 US-made bayonets, as well as some scarce WW1 and WW2 era fighting daggers and trench knives made in the US, Great Britain, France, Germany, and other countries available for sale – please take a look in the Militaria section.
