WW2 Camillus USMC MK2 fighting knife, original early war leather scabbard. Rare Marine Corps Mark 2 fighter in great condition, considering the age. FREE EXPEDITED SHIPPING WITHIN THE US FOR THIS ITEM.

Original early WW2 era US Navy Mark 2 “Ka-Bar” fighting knife with the USMC designation (the link is a courtesy of Wikipedia) manufactured early in the war by Camillus Cutlery in Camillus, New York. MK2 is a classic American WW2 era fighting knife; this type was used in combat by the US Army and the Navy men alike in all theaters of the War. This is a hard-to-find USMC-designated MK2 fighter – these were manufactured for the US Marine Corps in limited quantities. It turns out that the early issue leather scabbards would quickly fail when exposed to salt water. These early-war leather scabbards were quickly replaced with more durable composition scabbards; early all-leather scabbards are hard-to-find nowadays.

The guard is stamped CAMILLUS, N.Y. and U.S.M.C. on the top side; ricasso is unmarked, as it should be for this type. Leather washers “fat handle” with heavy round pommel and a slightly curved guard; all parts are tight with no play. The knife is about 12″ / 30.5 cm overall; blued blade is about 7″ / 17.8 cm. The blade has about 60% of its original parkerized finish intact. The edge has been re-sharpened, but not harshly; it is razor-sharp still; the tip is intact. Rare early WW2 issue all-leather scabbard is in great overall condition, considering the age. Original stitching and rivets are intact; the leather is soft and supple still. The keeper has been replaced with a leather tie-down cord. Overall, this scabbard is in better-than-average condition – these early scabbards are hard-to-find in general as most have salt water/moisture damage. This rare USMC-designated WW2 Camillus USMC MK2 fighting knife and its original scabbard are in 100% serviceable condition still. With proper care this old timer will last you another 85 years 😉

During the war most of the USMC MK2s were used in the field as intended; these early MK2s are hard-to-find this nice. This rare WW2 Camillus USMC MK2 fighting knife will be a great addition to any collection. This attractive MK2 fighter has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it is in 100% original “as is” condition. These are the actual photos; Garand clips are not included with the knife 😉
