Original WW2 era American “theater” fighting knife made from whatever materials were available on hand – the blade seems to be an old re-purposed file; the guard definitely came off the USAF Pilot Knife made during the war by Camillus. The handle is stacked leather washers with aircraft aluminum spacers and pommel. The overall quality is pretty high; the overall fit and finish are excellent; all parts are tight with no play – not a small feat in the rudimentary field conditions. The dagger and original custom-made scabbard are completely unmarked.
This interesting fighter is about 11-1/2″ / 29.2 cm overall; dual-edged blade is about 7″ / 18 cm; the blade is razor-sharp still; the tip is intact. The handle is nice and tight; all handle parts are solid. Original leather scabbard is a piece of art; certainly made by a professional as the overall quality is simply superb. The overall fit is perfect; the stitching is straight and evenly-spaced; the keeper is actually a wrist watch band. The leather is soft and supple still; all stitching is intact.
This interesting WW2 American theater fighting dagger has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way; it is in 100% original “as is” condition; these are the actual photos. I have more WW2 American fighting knives, as well as several scarce WW1 and WW2 fighting daggers, bayonets and trench knives available for sale – please take a look in our Militaria section.
