Description

WW2 Aerial M3 fighting knife, guard-marked ACC, original M8 composition scabbard. Classic American trench knife made by a rare maker, great condition considering the age.

Original WW-II era guard-marked M3 Trench Knife manufactured by Aerial Cutlery Co. The M3 production had ended in August 1944, but out of the total of 2.5 million M3s made, only 52,000 M3s were made by Aerial Cut. This is one of the hardest to find M3 makers. This fighting knife is used, but it’s in better-than-average condition for the type since most of these fighting knives were used in the filed as intended. See the WW2 era M3 Trench Knife in the European theater photo (for reference only; not included with the lot).

The knife is about 11-1/2” / 29.3 cm overall; polished blade is about 6-5/8″ / 16.8 cm. The blade has been re-sharpened; it is razor-sharp; the tip is intact. Stacked leather washers handle is tight; original iron guard and hammer-like pommel; all parts are solid with no play. Original M8composition scabbard was manufactured by Beckwith Manufacturing Company – a division of Victory Plastics. All original parts are intact; top plate underside is marked B /5 N; the back side is initialed KH in small letters near the throat. Overall, this WW2 Aerial M3 fighting knife is in 100% serviceable condition; this type is getting harder to find every year. I have a few other early-issue M3 fighting knives available for sale in my store; buy more and save on shipping.

This personal collection contains many interesting items, some are unique, but there is just too much work to list it all at the same time. Please check out my site periodically for new arrivals; I’ll be listing more items in the next few weeks.

These are the actual photos; spent brass is not included with the lot 😉 I have a number of vintage American-made collectible knives in the store, please take a look at the store’s American Blades section.
