Vietnam War OMOR Japan fighting knife made from M4 bayonet blade clone, custom boot-carry scabbard; a unique “theater-made” fighter in excellent condition, considering the age. FREE SHIPPING WITHIN THE U.S. FOR THIS ITEM.
Original Vietnam War era fighting knife made from a M4 bayonet clone manufactured in the 1960th-1970th by O.M.O.R. in Japan. OMOR produced all kinds of copies of known knife designs at the time. The M4 bayonet clones and fighting knives with the M4-style blades were made and sold commercially during the War in Vietnam. This type is hard to find nowadays as relatively few were sold commercially and most of them ended up with the commies anyway after the 1975 Fall of Saigon.
This specimen was made from a commercial J-118 model fighter whose handle was completely redone and fitted with a heavy “scull crusher” bronze pommel. An original flimsy leather sheath was also replaced with a fancy hand-made leather scabbard outfitted with a stainless leaf spring for “boot carry”. The overall quality of the knife and the scabbard is actually quite high. The knife is about 11-5/8″/ 29.5 cm overall; the blade is about 6-1/2″ / 16.5 cm long. The edge is very sharp still; the tip is intact. Ricasso is marked O.M.O.R. / JAPAN / J-118. Stacked leather washers and a heavy “scull crusher” solid bronze pommel. The handle is solid, all parts are tight with no play. Unmarked custom leather scabbard is in great condition as well, considering the age. The “boot clip” leaf spring is nice and tight; all parts are intact.
This unique Vietnam War OMOR Japan fighting knife and custom-made scabbard are in excellent overall condition and is 100% serviceable still. Not cleaned or tampered with in any way, 100% original “as is” condition; these are the actual photos. I have a few more Vietnam War fighting knives and bayonets, as well as several scarce WW1 and WW2 American and European fighting daggers, bayonets and trench knives available for sale – please take a look in our Militaria section.
