Description
Vietnam War era fighting dagger, large 7.5-inch dual-edge blade, original “quiet draw” leather scabbard. Very well-made fighter; rare “private purchase” type in excellent overall condition.
Rare Vietnam War era “private purchase” fighting dagger likely manufactured in the US. This in an excellent quality-made fighter; solid aluminum handle is directly cast onto the blade; the guard is machine-cut piece of bronze; this knife has a near-perfect balance. Original leather scabbard was designed to be “silent” when you need to be as quiet as possible – there are no snaps that might give a “popping” sound when opened; the keeper is kept in place by a simple aluminum knob.
This fighter is about 12-5/8″ / 32 cm overall; the blade is about7-1/2″ / 19 cm long. Dual-edge blade has been lightly sharpened; it is razor-sharp still; the tip is intact. The handle is solid with no play; all parts are tight; aluminum part has dark-green finish; the coat looks original. The knife and the scabbard are completely unmarked. The scabbard is in excellent condition, considering the age. The leather is still soft and supple; all original stitching and keeper are intact.
This rare Vietnam War era fighting dagger is in excellent overall conditions; don’t miss your chance to add it to your collection! Not cleaned or tampered with in any way, 100% original “as is” condition; spent brass is not included with the knife 😉 I have more Vietnam War era and WW2 era knives and bayonets, as well as several scarce WW1 and WW2 American and European fighting daggers, bayonets and trench knives available for sale – please take a look in the Militaria section.
