Large 57-mm diameter medal in About Uncirculated condition with original patina. Only a small number of these medals were produced circa 1924-1930; this type is exceedingly hard-to-find in any shape or form nowadays.
The medal is actually hollow inside as the two sides of this medal were struck separately in silver and than welded together – an unusual type. Both sides are proof-marked with the early Soviet “worker” silver proof mark. The reverse is also marked with the silversmith’s coop (Artel) stamp; the rim is unmarked. Very attractive dark-gray patina with dark overtones; about 57 mm in diameter. An attractive specimen in About Uncirculated condition with original patina; a couple of minor rim nicks and dark spots on obverse are noted for accuracy.
