Rare Korean War era Model 1-8 “All Purpose Fighting Knife” made buy the famous “Bo” Randall; comes with the original “brown button”leather sheath by H.H. Heiser of Denver, Colorado. The knife is recent acquisition; reportedly it’s been with the same family for the last 50 plus years.
This Model 1 Fighter is about 13-1/4” / 33.5 cm overall; classic slim blade is about 7-7/8” / 20 cm. Nice light-gray patina on the blade; no pitting, edge nicks or dings; the edge is near-perfect and VERY sharp still; upper “false” edge is razor-sharp as well; the tip is intact. The blade is stamped RANDALL MADE / ORLANDO, FLA. at ricasso. Stacked leather washers handle with colored fiber spacers, aluminum pommel and wide double-hilt bronze guard is in great overall condition; all parts are tight with no play. Original leather scabbard is in good shape with original stitching intact, but it is missing the stone pocket and a keeper on the front. The leather is soft and supple; the scabbard is in very good overall condition, considering the age. The back is stamped 1 8 / H.H. Heiser / Maker / Denver, Colo. The knife was stored in a draw for a couple of decades but the oxidation on the brass is very light and cleanable, if you decide to do so; the knife is in much better than average condition overall.
