Original Cold War era Italian-made M4 bayonet for M1 carabine in scarce unused condition with original M8-style composition scabbard. This specimen was manufactured in 1955 by A.E.T. – Arsenale Esercito Torino (Turin Army Arsenal) – the blade is stamped A.E.T. / flaming bomb over crossed cannons / 1955 on one side of ricasso, serial number 13279 on the other. These Italian-made M4 bayonets and M8-style scabbards were manufacture in Turin from 1955 to 1960; the overall quality is excellent.
This specimen is in rare unused condition with original finish. This M4 is about 11-1/4″/ 28.5 cm overall; dark-gray parkerized blade is about 6-1/2″ / 16.5 cm long. Original factory edge is very sharp; the tip is intact; no dings or contact marks on the muzzle ring/guard or pommel. Brown plastic handle scales are excellent; the handle is solid, all parts are tight with no play. Bayonet release mechanism is in perfect working order; it’s 100% functional. Original unmarked composition scabbard is also unused; no rust or stains on the webbing. The back panel still has the original “Grade 1” collection sticker attached.
This original Cold War era Italy AET M4 bayonet is in excellent overall condition; it is 100% serviceable still. Not cleaned or tampered with in any way; these are the actual photos.
