Description
Imperial Russian Naval Benevolent Association silver jeton awarded to D.T. Vitsin in 1905. Rare “named” type with attractive light-gray patina; guaranteed 100% authentic original or your money back.
Original Russo-Japanese War era Russian Empire Naval Benevolent Association (МОРСКОЕ БЛАГОТВОРИТЕЛЬНОЕ ОБЩЕСТВО) silver badge (jeton/jetton); a rare type. Pre-WW1 jetons of this type are very rare as the majority were awarded after 1914. About 33.6 mm by 16.6 mm; the total weight is about 10.2 grams. The back is hand-engraved with the name (Д.Т. Вицин) and the award date 1905. Imperial Russian navy battle flag on the front in deep-blue hot enamel with the Imperial coat of arms cast in silver over it (multi-piece construction). The assayer’s mark is stamped on the suspension ring; it is mostly off-center so the assayer’s initials couldn’t be read. This is a scarce type and an attractive specimen with original light-gray patina throughout; hard to find in any shape or form nowadays.
This pre-WW1 Imperial Russian Naval Benevolent Association silver jeton is guaranteed to be genuine or your money back. I have more Imperial Russian medals, badges, and coins in my store; please check out Russian Empire section for similar listings.
