Original Cold War era Greek-made M4 bayonet for M1 carabine in scarce practically unused condition with hard-to-find original made in Greece M8A1 style composition scabbard; only 38,264 were made in the 1950s. This is a scarce type in general –  most of these Greek M4s came to the US just recently, when Greece returned its stock of older US-made M1 Carbines to the U.S. Government in 2010–2011. A lot of Greek M4s were paired with US-made M8A1 scabbards with only a fraction of bayonets fitted with the post-war Greek-made M8A1-style scabbards – this is a rare find.

This  specimen was manufactured by EME – the blade is weekly stamped EME on one side of ricasso. This specimen is in rare practically unused condition with original black over copper finish on the blade. A unique feature of Greek M4s is that their blades were copper-plated, then finished in a black coating. Traces of copper show through where the black finish on the ridges, where the black coat has worn away. This M4 is about 11-1/2″/ 29.2 cm overall; the blade is about 6-5/8″ / 17 cm long. Original factory edge is very sharp; the tip is intact. No dings or contact marks on the muzzle ring/guard or pommel; a few light edge bumps near the tip are noted for accuracy. Stacked leather washers handle is excellent; the handle is solid, all parts are tight with no play. Bayonet release mechanism is in perfect working order; it’s 100% functional. Original Greece-made unmarked composition scabbard is great shape as well; no rust or stains on the webbing.

This original Cold War era Greece M4 bayonet is in excellent overall condition; it is 100% serviceable still. Not cleaned or tampered with in any way; these are the actual photos.
