Description

Germany WW1 Campfmesser fighting knife manufactured by Gustav Felix of Solingen. Original stag handle, late-war leather sheath; scarce type in great overall condition, considering the age.

Original WW1 era Kampfmesser (close combat knife) manufactured in Solingen, Germany by Gustav Felix. This particular stag-handled type was mass-produced during the war to conserve the much-needed steel. This general knife type is illustrated on pages 58-59 of the excellent French reference book titled Knives and Daggers-Bayonets Used by the German Army During 1914-1945 by Christian Mary (see the book’s page scan in the photos).

This fighting knife is in very good overall condition for the type – no pitting or rust; the blade is free of dings or nicks; the edge is very sharp still; the tip is a bit rounded. The dagger is about 10-3/8” / 26.4 cm overall; the blade is about 5-5/8” / 14.3 cm. The G. FELIX/ SOLINGEN logo on the side of the blade is crisp and clear. Original  European elk stag handle with the S-shape iron guard; the handle is nice and tight; the guard has a bit of a play. Original simplified late-war leather scabbard is in great shape as well, considering it’s over 100 years old. All original rivets and stitching are intact; the leather is soft and supple  still. This scarce Germany WW1 Campfmesser fighting knife is in great overall condition, considering the age. Don’t miss your chance to add it to your collection!

This scarce Germany WW1 Campfmesser fighting knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it is in 100% original “as is” condition; these are the actual photos.
