Rare 1935 German Armed Forces conscription commemorative issue by the famous German medalist Karl Goetz (K-507) in About Uncirculated  condition with original patina. Goetz designed this medal after Nazi Germany went on with the plan to conscript 600,000 man to the armed forces per year, in clear violation of the Versailles Treaty which limited the size of the German military to less than 100K. This massive expansion of all branches of the German Armed Forces had signaled Germany’s preparation to the next World War. Only a small number of these medals were produced in 1935 and this type is exceedingly hard-to-find in any shape or form nowadays.

The medal is sharply struck in silver in high relief with mate finish; Kienast reference # 507. The medal is expertly done in the unique Karl Goetz artistic style; the rim is marked “BAYER. HAUPTMUNZAMPT. FEINSILBER 900f” (Bavarian Head Coinage Office. Fine Silver .900 Fitness). Very attractive light-gray patina with dark overtones; weights about 20 grams, about 36.2 mm in diameter. An attractive specimen in About Uncirculated condition with original patina; a minor rim nick and a small scratch at 12 o’clock on obverse are noted for accuracy.

Karl Goetz was born in Augsburg, Germany and studied in Leipzig, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Utrecht, Le Locle (Switzerland), and in Paris. With the start of WW-I Karl Goetz became an artist known around the world for his 1914-1923 satirical medals. Overall, Goetz created about 180 satirical medals and close to 800 medals overall; all are very collectible and highly prized today. He also designed a series of pattern coins, tokens and medals for the German Empire, the Weimar Republic, and the Third Reich Germany. Karl Goetz survived WW2 and died in his native Munich in 1950.

This rare original German Armed Forces conscription commemorative Germany Karl Goetz 1935 silver medal is not a later reproduction or a copy; it is guaranteed to be 100% genuine or your money back. Not cleaned; these are the actual photos. Don’t miss your chance to add this rare and attractive Germany Karl Goetz 1935 silver medal to your collection!
