German States Bavaria 1844 silver 3.5 Gulden 2 Thaler – large Temple of Heroes 1-year type commemorative (KM-818). Nicely toned specimen with original patina; XF condition.
Kingdom of Bavaria; Ludwig I era – issued to commemorate the construction of the “Temple of Heroes” memorial in Munich – a shrine to the Bavarian soldiers fallen in Russia – 1-year type; KM 818; Thun 83; Dav. 591; AKS 106; Kahnt 110; J. 74. Tiny mintage of just a few hundred; this type is VERY hard-to-find these days. Large Crown-size coin: about 38 mm in diameter; weights 37.12 grams, an inscription on the rim. Nice original light-gray patina, XF condition; scarce this nice.
