Hard to find original pre-WW2 issue British Empire Colonial Auxiliary Forces silver medal awarded circa 1910-1930. This type was awarded for 20 years of service and was discontinued in 1930; a scarce type. This specimen was awarded to Canadian Private P. Poulet: the inscription punched on the edge reads “PTE. P. POULET LES VOL DE Q.” The inscription stands for “Les Voltigeurs de Québec” – a regiment in the Canadian militia. Original silk ribbon and vintage collector’s tag are included. This medal is in excellent overall condition for the type and rare this nice and complete. The medal is about 36.4 mm in diameter; total weight with the ribbon and pin is about 36.4 grams. Not cleaned with very attractive original dark-gray patina throughout, all parts are tight with no play.
