Rare limited edition issue of the famous Applegate-Fairbairn dagger hand-finished in 2000 by Boker in Solinhen, Germany. The blade is made of special-order beautifully patterned “Odin’s Eye” ATS-34/SanVik Damascus steel. The steel is just as unique as it is beautiful – it consists of 180 layers of tool-grade ATS-34 steel sandwiched between Swedish SanVik steel, resulting in one of the kind blade with unique characteristics.
The dagger is about 9″ / 23 cm overall; dual-edge blade is about 4-7/4″ / 12.3 cm; original edge is razor-sharp; the tip is intact. The handle is exotic Rosewood; the mirror-polished guard is serial-numbered 090/300. The set is in absolute mint condition, complete with the original presentation wood box, matching serial-numbered COA is in German, Bocker’s care instructions, and the registration card.
This 2000 limited addition Applegate-Fairbairn dagger with rare Damast blade was limited to just 300 pieces world-wide; catalog-listed original retail price for the set was $525 twenty years ago. Included with the set are pages from 2000 A.G. Russell Knives and Boker catalogs.
