WW2 American fighting knife made from M3/M4 production overruns; blued blade, original M8 composition scabbard included. Great overall condition, considering the age.
Original WW2 era American fighting knife made from M3 – M4 production overruns. Blued M3/M4 type blade is unmarked; the knife comes with original M8 composition scabbard. This type was manufactured during the war by several makers utilizing a quantity of semi-finished M3/M4 blades. This fighting knife is about 11-1/2″ / 29.2 cm overall; nicely blued blade is about 6-1/2″ / 16.5 cm. The edge seems to be factory original; the blade is very sharp still; the tip is intact. Steel butt plate, iron half-guard and stacked leather washers handle; all parts are solid with no play. The original M8 composition scabbard is well-used but it’s in 100% serviceable condition still. One rib has a side crack on it; the scabbard has been re-painted; the throat underside is stamped B3/7N on one side; the webbing is fare; the keeper is intact and hold the knife well.
This attractive WW2 American fighting knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it is in 100% original “as is” condition. These are the actual photos; spent brass is not included with the knife
