Description

United Kingdom 1625-1645 silver Sixpence, Charles I era hammered coinage; scarce type with original patina, About Fine.

Scarce James I era (1625-1649) hammered Sixpence in about Fine condition. Uneven semi-round planchet at the edges have the typical for the era clipped edges. No  dents or bent sides; reverse is rotated about 30 degrees – these coins were hammer-struck by hand and had uneven planchets and weak details even under the best circumstances. About 26-24 mm in diameter; about 2.9 grams. Attractive original light-gray patina throughout. Not cleaned, polished, or otherwise messed around with; these are the actual photos.
