American Civil War Sons Of Union Veterans badge struck circa 1881 in bronze, original intact ribbon and suspension pin; excellent overall condition, considering the age.
Nice “flying witch” type badge struck circa 1913 for the annual encampment of the Spanish-American War veterans which in 1913 was held in Salem Massachusetts on April 18-19. High-relief bronze badge with gorgeous chocolate-brown patina; original pin-on suspension is intact; scarce this nice. The medal shows the famous Salem Witch on her jet-powered broom on a night-time reconnaissance mission with a black cat for a co-pilot 😉 The badge is about 2-5/8 inches / 68 mm overall; the round medal part is about 27.4 mm in diameter. Very attractive specimen with original brown patina; great overall eye appeal. Not cleaned or tempered with; these are the actual photos.
This 100-yr old veteran’s badge came from an old-time collection of a NJ-based gentleman which I recently purchased; I have about 20 various US badges, pins, and awards to list, some are pretty rare. This original Spanish-American War Veterans badge 1913 Salem MA encampment type is guaranteed to be genuine or your money back. I have more medals, badges, pins, and commemorative medals available for sale, please check out Badges & Medals store section for additional listings.
