Russia 1613-1913 Romanovs silver Rouble scarce Type I, St. Petersburg mint. Nicely toned AU specimen with original goldish-gray patina; great eye appeal.
Original Nicholas II era (1894-1917) commemorative Rouble issued in 1913 to mark the 300-year anniversary of the ruling Romanov’s dynasty. Struck at the St. Petersburg mint, mint master Victor Smirnov (BC on the rim); not cleaned with original gray with golden overtones patina. This is an early Type 1 struck in high-relief. Type 1 is scarce as most of the commemorative 1913 Roubles were struck in low relief after the original dies had cracked and a new set could not be properly hardened. About 34 mm in diameter; nice specimen with great eye appeal; a few minor bag marks/nicks are noted for accuracy. This coin has not been cleaned or tempered with in any way; these are the actual photos.
