Puma Germany 3596 Gnicker knife, sambar stag handle, original sheath. Scarce short-lived early 1970th issue; still in original retail box with papers. FREE EXPEDITED SHIPPING WITHIN THE U.S. FOR THIS ITEM.
VERY hard to find early 1970th Puma 3596 Gnicker (variant of the Gamekeeper Knife model) in excellent unused condition. The Gnicker was manufactured for just 3 years from 1971 to 1973; the model wasn’t a great sell and it was quickly discontinued. This rare Gnicker specimen is in excellent overall condition. Factory edge is razor-sharp, the tip is intact; the bottom 1 inch of the edge is finely serrated to cut through tougher materials. Solid full-tang construction; the knife is about 9-1/16″ / 23 cm overall; the blade is about 4-3/8″ / 11 cm. The blade is finely etched with the the Puma logo and legends on one side; the other side still has the factory blade hardness test sticker on it. The handle is beautifully textured genuine sambar stag scales secured with 3 pins. No cracks or chips on the stag; all parts are tight with no play. Original and equally rare Puma’s Bavarian-style pocket-carry leather sheath with metal fittings in great overall condition as well; it has a small piece of Velcro one one side to attached to the interior of the box. Original correctly-labeled green-n-yellow plastic retail box is excellent; included is a sales brochure for the Gamekeeper’s knife that was part of the 3500th models series line-up.
